WIKIPEDIA JOINS DAILY KOS IN THE 'CENSOR GAME'

Ben Heine is mainly known for his anti-war cartoons, for his affiliation with Carlos Latuff and for his share in their pro-Palestinian narrative approach to cartooning.
In November 2006, he issued a pro-Palestinian poster to illustrate his political affiliation in the Israeli-Arab conflict, by calling for "solidarity in anti-zionism".

Ben Heine is a member of the Don Quichotte Worldteam and often publishes works there. He draws for the alternative news sites MWC News, Rebelion and is also a member of Tlaxcala, the Translators’ Network for Linguistic Diversity.
He collaborates with the Belgian newspaper La Libre Belgique [1] [2].
His political images are exhibited on several Websites dedicated to art and cartoons such as Brazilcartoon, Greekartoon, Cartoonworld (United Kingdom) en Cartoonru (Russia).
His cartoons have also been featured on some popular cartoon-Websites of the Middle and Far East World like Irancartoon, Syriacartoon, Arabcartoon, Persiancartoon, the Turkish site Karikaturevi, Azercartoon as well as on the Chinese Okcomic.
In May 2007, Ben realized a poster "Beyond The Wall" for a series of concerts in Brussels with several artists suppporting the Palestinian cause.
In August 2006, a cartoon by Ben Heine was used for an anti-war poster presenting the Don Quichotte exhibition "Stop the War", which was held in Turkey and in Germany during the 2006 Lebanon war. His cartoons about the war in Lebanon were published in several Middle East newspapers such as the Syrian Al Baath

Ben Heine draws the caricatures of famous and less famous people around the world. Some of his caricatures are exhibited on Dessin d'humour and the National Caricaturist Network (NCN). He recently participated to the Second International Kruger Worshop.

Heine's acrylic paintings self describes his paintings as “erotico fantastico burlesque”. He has been deeply influenced by the German Expressionism, Surrealism and Pop Art and draws what he sees with the eyes of imagination.
He has exhibited his paintings in Belgium and England.
He is a good man.

In April 2007, a cartoon by Ben Heine was censored by the North American site Daily Kos. Since then, several defences to Heine's work have been written, the first one by is "Blog associate", DesertPeace. Others by Tlaxcala's and MWC News' editors (see links below). Ben Heine has been accused of anti-Semitism by the French group UPJF (Union des Patrons et des Professionnels Juifs de France) although he wrote an open letter with other cartoonists to deny such allegations. Ben Heine strongly insisted that the concerned cartoons aimed to support the oppressed ones and criticized the Zionist actions in Palestine. He was also one of the Belgian cartoonists participating in the holocaust revisionist cartoon contest organized by Hamshari and Irancartoon.

Just a quick note about the Wikipedia process for evaluating articles.
The Ben Heine article on Wikipedia is currently being reviewed for for possible deletion on the question of whether Mr. Heine is considered to be notable enough (using a specific Wikipedia standard) to be included in an encyclopedia at this time.
Mr. Heine's beliefs and statements are not at issue at all. Only whether reliable sources (more than blogs and minor web publications, and for a substantial period of time) have published coverage about Mr. Heine.
If it can be proven by references to major media coverage that Mr. Heine is well known and has a well established reputation (whether for good or for bad) outside the blogosphere, then it is likely that the Wikipedia article will be kept, no matter whether anyone agrees or disagrees with Mr. Heine's views.
It may simply be that it is too early in Mr. Heine's career as a cartoonist to warrant including him in an encyclopedia at this time. But in the future as he gets reviews in major publications that print stories about him and his works, his level of (provable) notability will increase.
The evaluation of the Wikipedia article is being carried out with utmost respect for Mr. Heine's rights to believe as he sees fit. The only standard being considered is how extensively his work is known in the public at this time.
Also, if a determination were to be made that someone posted an article about Mr. Heine for the purposes of attacking him and wrongfully disparaging him as a person and disparaging his beliefs, the article might be deleted. Wikipedia has a policy against attack pages and no attacks against Mr. Heine would be tolerated.
Please be assured that the Wikipedia community is committed to treating Mr. Heine with respect, and the review of the article about him is merely a routine process that many articles undergo every day.

They have targeted Ben only because of his outspokenness again the zionist tyranny in Israel... no other reason.
His 'fame' or lack of outside of the blogesphere has nothing to do with them wanting to delete him... it's a political move on their part, one that will come back to haunt them.
